Why does this site exist?
Its a vehicle for the continued enhancement of the Herts/Beds/Bucks music scene by raising awareness of shows that are taking place and particularly detailing the goings-on of all bands involved. Better shows equals better bands equals better shows. Everyone's a winner.

Can I contribute to the website?
Yes. The more interesting and varied content this website contains the better. However remember its initially directed at Herts/Beds/Bucks so only editorial of shows or cds from a local bands will be accepted. The blog section is open too, however same restrcitions apply is has to be interesting to the people of the area - general social observations are ok too, just no whining thanks. We are still undecided about whether reviewing massive international bands is relevant, but for the time being lets assume not unless (again) they are playing in the DTA-friendly areas. For inclusion you will be expected to have a positive or constructive viewpoint, a good standard of writing. As well as know what the F7 key does, no spelling scandals please. The Editor is ruthless and omnipotent.

How does my band get a gig with DTA?
With regards to support bands we do tend to favour local bands who have been recommended to us or we have seen at other local shows and have thought that they have potential and deserved to be seen by bigger audiences. If you're a band from out of the Herts, Beds and Bucks area, we would always advise you to promote yourselves to people within the area and get people to recommend you to us. That way we can guarantee a good show for both you and us and everyone leaves with a happy face and a good impression of the band and promoter alike.

If you are a band from miles away that hasn't ever played miles away... please don't ask us for shows, it equates to spamming and you are wasting everyone\'s time. Our advice is to play towns close by and build you reputation from there.

If you are crap and think that's cool or funny... please don't ask us for shows.

If you are a young band... please try to learn as much as possible from bands you play with. It'll make you better, and it makes everything better.

Buying tickets?
Unfortunately Student Union does not sell tickets, it was too fiddly keeping track. Plus students are all self-confessed thieves, so it wasn't a good idea. Tickets are always available online @ Ticketweb and We Got Tickets, via Dave, Andy and Tom, or on the door of the show (subject to availability).

If any show is sold out or nearing sold out point, it'll be clearly stated on this site. If you hear it elsewhere don't be dumb and believe it.
