Independent viewpoint on the sinister world of DTA...

In The Beginning...

DTA gigs started out as a charity fund rasier in 2005, developed by Andy O'Hara and David Brady. However after splitting to rival venues for a while, Tom Jackson came into the picture and working with Dave & Andy the DTA  team came together.

Since then they've paved the way for they're legacy, and made it as the top name for setting up alternative & rock music gigs in luton. SU is the main base for their gigs, however Cork & Bull (rip) and more recently Harveys have become venues for the rock rabbles.

So What About The Music...?

As it clearly states,"This Is Rock Music!"
And having held host to a multitude of names over the last 2 years DTA pull out all the stops to get it right.
Big name, Big sound; electro/ punk/ rock band, Enter Shikari were brought back just recently to the adoring fans having previously played SU before they made they're big break onto london stages and radio. But it's not all local - American rockers "Men, Women & Children" were also commandeered to play the luton DTA scene. The show was included in their recent tour dates. It was intimate and had to have blown all the other venues out of the water.

Aswell as the big bands, it gives the lesser know bands a break, something everyone likes to see; up and coming talent. Check out the previous shows line-up on the www.dtamusic.co.uk website.

So Apart From The Music...

Well for the gig venues, we are usually talking about the Luton S.U. centre of town,  by The Luton University, on Vicarage Street, easy access! Pre-book tickets and pay at the door as you go in.

The venue itself is host to a bar, for those over 18 obviously, an intimate stage, plently of dance floor... moshing if you like. Strobe & colour lighting...it's dark, moody, perfect for hiding away from the 'ugly lights' . However if your more preferable to just sit back & watch those dancing & listen to the music, there's a cosy corner reserved for you, with couches & tables.
What more could you want?
Guess i'll see you there!
